Thompson and his father John Thompson (b. abt 1737 in England) and served in the Caroline Militia in 1777. John's genealogy is reportedly in a book "Thompson Caroline Carol Inn" by T. N. Campbell on pages 320-325. Robert P. Thompson (Jr. or Sr.) married Nancy Ann Isbell about 1805 and again a few years later to another lady. Marriage recorded in Caroline County, VA. Vol. 1787-1851, page 1. Will some one please help me get copies of these sources. Ruffin Rackley
