We think Frances Jourdan's parents were William Armistead Jourdan and Sarah Pemberton Jourdan. James had a sister Elizabeth (Betsy) who married William Sledd of Henrico County, VA February 5, 1804 verified by Caroline County marriage records. Children of James and Fanny were William Armistead Payne, Polly Payne and Jane Payne who married a Dr. Fogg and moved to Giles, Tenn. Any information on James Payne's parents will be appreciated.
