It gives me my 1st explicit connection between William White and Ambrose White (b. c1753 d. 1823), my wife's ancestor, other than both were surveyors in Caroline Co. I had speculated that William was the father of Ambrose, who also had a son William (b. c1775, also d. 1823) I would have guessed that "Dr" means the person transferring the land and "To" means the person receiving the land. Your definitions are a bit counter intuitive. It looks like these alterations to land taxes are based on transfers that could have occurred any time after 1782 and by 1812, based on the title of the microfilm. Or do you think the alterations were all made in 1783? Kent
