Micajah CHILES was their son. Mary was connected to Quaker group. AFter Henry CHILES died she md a HOWELL. DNA testing has indicated that Mary WINSTON is in the line of Micajah. Mary's father was William WINSTON the immigrant (probably from Wales) His first land grant was noted in 1666, and he had a 2nd in 1687 which adjoined the first one. William had 3 sons: Anthony, William, and Isaac who inherited land. The daughters have been hard to prove. One of the grandchildren of Henry CHILES md another WINSTON. After their marriage, they had several children viz Reuben Clatterbuck who is administrator of Richard Clatterbuck's estate, Lucy Clatterbuck and Sally Clatterbuck. John Massey (Clutterbuck) further states that Richard Clatterbuck always acknowledged him as his son. 4 Aug 1803 Reuben Clatterbuck states that his father, Richard Clatterbuck, lived with his mother several years before their marriage and during that time had by her three children, viz John, Sally and yet another who is dead. They then married and had two children namely Reuben Clatterbuck and Lucy Clatterbuck. He admits that his father died years ago and that his mother is alive and had rendered all of her claim to the estate to Reuben Clatterbuck and Lucy Clatterbuck consideration of her being supported during her lifetime. 6 Mar 1804 A. Waugh, Rector of St. Mary's certifies that there are the following entries in the parish registry...." John-NS of Eliz.     2. 1756 Servant, Dennis McCarty was released by master, Oliver Charles upon cancellation of freedom dues. 1762 Children of Dennis MacCarty, bound. (St. Mary's) Deed of Elizabeth McCarty, executrix of Dennis McCarty late of St. John's Parish in King Willliam County to William Madison, son of Elizabeth McCarty, for 200 acres part of 400 acres in St. Margaret's Parish in Caroline County patented by Thomas Carr, Gentleman, on 16 Aug 1721 and sold by him to Dennish McCarty on 16 Jan 17__.
