    1. [VACAROLI] Walter L. Garrett
    2. Billye D. Jackson
    3. Looking for anyone who may have a bible record, deed or other document that names Walter L. Garrett as a son of William & Elizabeth Taylor Garrett. Walter L. was b 1793 in Caroline Co, VA, son of William, b 1752. William d 1825 Lloyds, Essex, VA and lived in both Caroline and Essex Counties. Have names of all children from other records and books, “The Garrett Family of Caroline and Essex Counties, VA” and History of Caroline Co. VA.” These books are not satisfactory proof for the Texas SAR genealogist, I was told. Despite the fact that all factual research by myself for William’s children matches up with the Garrett book exactly, I’m unable to an actual connector for Walter and parents. I have searched countless records, sources and consulted paid researchers. I need a bible or deed record, or maybe a letter that calls Walter a sibling, if any are around. Can anyone help? I believe I’ve hit a solid brick wall. Billye D. Jackson [Wife of Golden Charles Owen Jackson, 4th Great Grandson of William & Elizabeth] No virus found in this outgoing message. In the 1980's an elderly relative wrote me that Oswald's mother's maiden name was LeRoy, but she had no other information, and she died soon after contacting me. I was so pleased to see your posting about Libum Beazley having a brother named Oswald. I have surmised for a long time that they were brothers, but had no proof. I also speculate that they had a brother named Armistead (but again, no proof). Can you tell me where you got the information about Libum having a brother named Oswald? Also, can you give me the full names of Libum's parents, and any additional information about them - i.e., dates of birth, dates of death, places, other children, the names of their parents, etc. I live in Texas, so it is difficult to do much actual on-site research into this line, but would so appreciate any information you can give me. I will be glad to send you any information that I have that you might be interested in. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. 3. Just be wary - not all books are created equal - and if the book does not have resources other than other books, etc., its not a resource by itself. So many of the book written about the Herndon family have been proven very incorrect and most use one book, that in itself was incorrect, as the resource. Yes, its difficult to find good records from Colonial Virginia - and the burned counties... but take what you find on the WWW or Ancestry or in a 'book' with a grain of salt - use it as a 'tip' and go about proving it for yourself... Unfortunately most of it cannot be proven so we have to take what can be and go from there.
