    1. [VACAROLI] Walter L. Garrett
    2. Billye D. Jackson
    3. Happy New Year, everyone. This is an update to the question I had recently asked about Walter L. Garrett, mentioned in The Garrett’s of Caroline and Essex Counties, VA. No one had any information other than what was given in the book. In that it gave his birth date, listing him as “Walter L. Garrett” and that he was a sibling of other Garrett children born to William and 1st wife Elizabeth (thought to be Taylor, but not documented) Garrett and that “Walter” had married Sarah Davis in KY and gave the date. This find connects Waller Lunsford Garrett to his parent William Garrett, of Essex Co., VA, who was a Revolutionary War soldier. I have just put spouse into Sons of the American Revolution on this line and will shortly put his daughter into DAR on the same line. In case anyone wants into either group, those applications will soon be available for you to use. If you want to join either and don’t know how, email me. I and wish you all success in your own searches and thank all of you for working to help us. You’re a fine group to have met online, thank you, each for helping. I hope this helps someone else at some point. Billye D. Jackson Wife of Golden Charles Owen Jackson, 3rd Great Grandson of Waller Lunsford Garrett, and 4th same of William. [Sending also to the Essex Co. US GenWeb site, with permission to use, if they wish.] This is a verbatim transcription of the record and exact source. Tappahannock, Essex Co., VA Quarterly Court Order Book 90, 1812-1815, page 352 (VA State Library Film #01000, Reel 90) 24 Mar 1814 Court date: “This day William Garrett of this County the father of Waller Lunsford Garrett who was a private in the Artillery company under the command of Capt. Richard Rayce(*? Royce? Name difficult to decipher; bj) which lately marched from this County to the Norfolk station, came into court and made oath that his said son Waller Lunsford Garrett was born on the 18th day of July 1795 by which it will appear that he is not twenty one years of age until the 18th day of July 1814 and ordered that the same be certified” No virus found in this outgoing message.
