Could not find the John B. Gravatt, Richmond minister, that you are interested in. I have a list of decendents of Ellis Gravatt of Caroline Co., born sometime in early 1700's. There are several John B. Gravatt's listed,but none who fill the bill. There is a Broaddus-Gravatt Family Reunion (decendants of John Cherbury Gravatt and Amanda Broaddus of Caroline Co., married April 28, 1825) on Sun., Sept. 24 at 1:30 P.M. at Poor Farm Park in Hanover Co. west of Ashland off RT. 54. You can e-mail Wil Gravatt at wilgravatt@aol.com for more info. about the reunion, or you can bring a covered dish and come find out if anyone there knew your John Gravatt. I don't know his birth or death year but he is buried at Round Oak Cemetary as is his wife Nellie Brown Mills (1888-1964). Joseph's father was Addison Mills. Joseph and Nellie had two sons, Joseph Mason and Carl, my father. I have several ancestors going back quite a long time that are buried at Round Oak Cemetary. Please help with any information that you might have.

In 1838 James Mitchell m. Emily Estes in Caroline County. Their children were; Sally Ann m. James Terry of Hanover County, Emily Jane, Luther, and Julian. Luther served in the Va. 30th Infantry during the Civil War. James Terry served in the Hanover Light Artillery. Hello everyone, I really must thank Peg for allowing me the pleasure of 'listsitting' the Caroline County mailing list while she winters in the sunny southwest! Dear Friends, Just wanted to let you know that I'm going to have to give up being the host of this mailing list until I return here to Homer in March. I'm going to be on the road and it will just be too difficult to talk with everyone in a timely manner and take care of maintaining the List. I'm going to miss you all!!! But I shall return and plan on hosting the List again when I get back. The Caroline homepage will remain in place and everything will be fully operational. I just don't know how often I can make changes to the page itself. It may very well remain the same til I return. You should continue posting queries, etc. and posting to the List, etc. None of that will be affected by this switchover. I'll be here til the end of September but I want to turn over the management of the List and the Obit and Query boards to LaRae (whom you'll meet soon!) now so we can iron out any kinks that may appear. LaRae has so graciously offered to watch over everything while I'm away. She is managing our other Caroline boards (Pension, Wills, etc.) and just does an absolutely superb job. She will be on call to answer all your questions and give help if you need that. My email will remain bearpaw@alaska.net and I'll be here til Sept. 29. Woolfolk aka: "Polly" 2/21/1805 by Andrew Broaddus Securit & Witness: Spilsbe Woolfolk Caroline County Chancery Suits: Jones, Edmund et al vs Richard Jones Edmund Jones, Joseph Jones, Thomas Jones and RIchard Bridges and Lousia Bridges his wife state that Thomas Jones, Sr., left in his eill dated 13 Feb. 1782 to his wife Sarah Jones and his four sons and one daughter viz Edmund Jones, Joseph Jones, George Jones, Louisa Bridges and Thomas Jones. He appointed his four sons as executors. George Jones died in 1796 and in his will dated 16 August 1796, left to his four children viz Richard Jones, John Jones, Sarah Jones and Elizabeth Jones. Since George Jones' death, his mother, Sarah Jones, has died testate but failed to devise to the heirs of George Jones, decd. March 1798 Jones, Richard and Polly vs Spilsbe Woolfolf, administrator of Samuel Woolfolk, et al Richard Jones and Polly Jones his wife formerly Polly/Mary Woolfolk against Spilsbe Woolfolk administrator of Samuel Woolfolk, decd. and John Woolfolk, Thomas Woolfolk and Wyatt Woolfolk Infant children of Samuel Woolfolk, decd. Richard Jones Sues for one fifth part of the estate in right of his wife, Polly Jones. [no date] There was another Richard Jones [Richard G. Jones] son of Stansfield Jones who died during sometime of 1844. I have the 1840 US Census Index and a Richard Jones of Caroline County, VA on page 95 is listed. June
