I'm still searching for Jones, Dickenson, Brookes, Holloways and Newtons. Rhoda Jones is my brick wall. She md. Robert Brookes. She was 95 in 1850 living with Mary and Fanny Jone(age 70). Anyone else working on these? Glad to share. Jean Jean Larson [email protected] Why Wait? Move to EarthLink.
Thomas Jones, (Jr) was the son of Thomas Jones and Sarah Woolfolk Jones (she died in 1797). He inherited his mother's land, near Dougetown (Milford) and he died in 1805, his widow Jane was still holding a life estate in the land in 1833. Does anyone known anything about Jane? Thomas Jones, Jr. and later his wife, Jane, paid taxes on a stagecoach. I suppose they must have been involved in that business. I am trying to find their children. Could this Jane Jones be the widow of Thomas Jones, Jr.? Jane Jones consents for her daughter, Jane H. Jones to marry 19 Dec 1809, John B. Valentine. Jonathan Jones was the witness to the consent and is surety to the bond. Thank you, Ann
Looking for the DOB and DOD for Thilman Chandler of Caroline County. Was Thilman born in Caroline or was he born in one of the counties that formed Caroline or did he emigrate from the British Isles. Thilman married Ursula (?) in 1827 and fathered Lindsay, Sarah, Andrew, Lydia, and Frances; and maybe Marha A. and Mary J. Lindsay was born in 1824 and Andrew in 1832. Did they serve in the Civil War? What units were formed from Caroline men? Thanks JEB

Did Peyton Stern live in Caroline county around 1805-1810 and do you know what part.? This record seems to be a dispute about land, since they are refernceing deeds. My grandparents were John F.Long and Lucy E. Richardson. I think her mother may have been an Este. They died about 1930 If you should have any information about those families in an earlier time :frame would appreciate your letting me know. It would appear that Mr. Stern was deposed in this suit. In 1880 there were living with my grandparents several Aunts:, Caroline, Elizabeth, and Virginia. Also a Fleming Lewis age 12, listed as Half-brother. Thanks for any clues someone may have. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Julie Lofurno" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, May 18, 2005 10:37 AM Subject: Re: [VACAROLI] Elizabeth Long, dau of John Long > Lois, my husband is distantly related to Peyton Stern. Researching Abner and brother, Nimrod SAUNDERS supposedly born in Caroline County in 1771 and 1774, respectively. Not sure who their parents were, but have found one historical text that suspects their parents were probably Simeon and Mary SAUNDERS. Have also found text that states Abner's father and older brothers were Rev. War soldiers, but we have found no mention of his brothers' names. We found several references to them in Wood County, WV where they died, but have been unable to find any earlier info. If anyone has any ideas on where to look for them in Caroline County, we would be so gracious. Thanks, Chris Beck [email protected]

Question: how old must a child be in 1733-1736, Caroline County, Virginia to ask for guardian? If the child was in 1719 is he/she old even to ask for guardian? Janet
First, my apologies for my earlier post. I hit 'send' accidentally before I had written anything. I am researching Reuben Ellis McDaniel who appeared on the 1830 and 1840 censuses in Sparta, Caroline Co. His first wife was Delilah Mary Priddy. Their children were Robert, Polly, Flora, Lucy and Reuben. His second wife was Delia Richerson. Their children were Reuben, John, Alfred, Giles, Edmond, Alexander and Benjamin. His third wife was Jane Richerson. They had no children. In 1841 the family moved to Saline County, Missouri. Reuben's parents were William McDaniel and Lucy Gravatt. I would love to hear from anyone else interested in any of these people, Lucy Whitehead [email protected]
