I am looking for any Whites from Albemarle, Louisa, Goochland or Fluvanna who may be connected to the Pace Family of Fluvanna County in the late 1700's or early 1800's. Daniel White 1740-1817. He died in Albemarle Co. Va., living most of his life near Batesville, Virginia. His rank was obtained in the Albemarle Militia during the Revolutionary War. His oldest child, Mary Ann White (wife of Thomas Martin of Albemarle Co.) is listed as being born in Caroline Co. Va. in 1775 (Va. Library). Daniel married Elizabeth McGehee in 1775, in Louisa Co. Va. (Louisa County Marriages and D.A.R) Caroline court order books, found in the Fairfax Co. Va. library, list an indentured deed from Henry White to Daniel White, 1772. The court order books also list the recordation of the last will and testament of Henry White, 1774 (dec.), executors, Francis White and John White, Caroline Co. Va. Further, is an indentured deed from Daniel White to Benjamin Wi...(torn page), 1777-8. I am assuming the torn name is Winn, since Francis White transfered land to a Benjamin Winn around the same time. Capt. Stephen, While there looking could you possibly do a quick check for me as well..................... It is possible that I too need information on the Surname White back to this area, not real sure yet. Here is my Problem, I show a William Cockerham {I know folks this is not the Cockerham list, I am a member of that one too} I also show a William Spillers Both appear on the 1704 Quit Rents List.........for {King Wm. Ct.} Same year same place........................................... Now I am seeing folks looking for the Surname White in some of this area of VA as well and "during the same timeframe I am in....or close to it at least" King Wm. is a burned county so records are few and far between and very hard to come by.......................................so My Spiller, Cockerham, and White lines all connect later on............. I have wondered for years if this could be a situtition where these folks all knew each other way before.............................................. Say back in VA? So my request is this: If you happen upon any Whites, that you may or may not be looking for; but notice that these other (2) surnames appear in the same document..................would you please make note and let me know? I don't want you to waste your time or anything doing a special search for me at all, just asking you to keep a look out for me while doing your own....................... I am trying to learn the possible surnames for some of my females in my line.............................. Gail

VA Genealogical material in the subject might not work..................................... i.e. say if I e-mail and asked you to seach for John Doe in Caroline Co. and it was through the Caroline Co. Mail list and you just put Caroline Co. Gen. Information that will not get the attention of the correct person as easy! But if you put: Attn: Gail Moore Information you requested Now that would grab me real quick! ALL the information on THIS list is suppose to be Caroline Co. VA Genealogical Material................I sure would not post something about South Carolina on here, or Florida or some other place. UNLESS it had to do with folks moving about or being in both places! So again who are you trying to reach here? Also did they e-mail you through the list or use your addy and e-mail off list to you, that could be the problem your having also with getting this out to the right person................................ JUST SUGGESTIONS And not really yelling just getting attention to try and help I hope!
