    3. I believe there is a Jones family in the corner of Caroline where Chilesburg is. For some reason this corner got neglected in the records. I suspect people went to Hanover to record their records and they got destroyed the worst. You might check Spotsylvania for your family. I find a lot of people recorded at Fredricksberg. I will look through my notes and see if I have anything for you, but it may take time. My grandaughter is having surgery at Stanford and this will be a busy week end. 3. Hi - I am looking for Elizabeth Jones who married Thomas Starke - Thomas lived in Hanover and Louisa Counties before he migrated to Georgia. However, his father's plantation was on the N. Anna River - the border between Caroline and Hanover, and his mother was from Caroline. I know this is like looking for a needle in the haystack but Elizabeth and Thomas named their youngest son, my ancestor, Philip Jones Stark - and it is his name that I think perhaps was her maiden name although I have no proof of this. So, if you ever run across as Philip Jones - let me know! Diane Stark Sanfilippo

    3. 1650 down......................................... Earliest Cockerham was b. abt. 1650 but not sure where, he died 1737 in King Wm. or Caroline Co. VA. The first Spiller(s) that I have seen is William on the 1704 Tax List appearing the same time as a William Cockerham on same list So they are full grown and owe taxes in 1704 so they would be at least 1686 if 18 years of age.................................. I have read post of others placing different Pigg men in Caroline Co. about these same timeframes at different times................................. I am trying to see if perhaps there is some connection between these old families of some sort........................ However my earliest Pigg that I can claim was Samuel Pigg of Halifax Co. VA who shows up in the Ct. Records of such as having married Martha widow Cockerham..........................Ext. of will of her late husband Daniel Cockerham Jr. Gail ----- Original Message ----- From: "Savasnia" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, July 13, 2005 10:29 AM Subject: Re: [VACAROLI] Re: Caroline Co Va Genealogical material--TIMBERLAKE > Can you please give a time frame. > > Jeanette > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Gail Moore" <[email protected]> > To: <[email protected]> > Sent: Wednesday, July 13, 2005 1:43 PM > Subject: Re: [VACAROLI] Re: Caroline Co Va Genealogical > material--TIMBERLAKE > > >> Ok here is my problem that I am having other than a great lack of a paper >> trail and records.............................. >> I relate to Spiller(s) >> Cockerham >> Pigg >> >> At one time or another all three names appear in Caroline Co. 3. Ok here is my problem that I am having other than a great lack of a paper trail and records.............................. I relate to Spiller(s) Cockerham Pigg At one time or another all three names appear in Caroline Co. VA. At least in that part of King William that later formed Caroline Co. in it's creation I should say. Problem: In my line that I can prove and now know of: Pigg and Cockerham first connected in Halifax when Daniel Cockerham Jr. died and his widow married Samuel Pigg and then removed to Surry NC and then on over into Greenville Dist. SC. {this turns out to be my 4th Grandfather's Parents and Step-Father} Spiller{s} and Cockerham connect later on in Greenville Dist. SC With the marriage of my GGGGrandparents: William Cockrum and Mary Polly Spillers..........{sic} daughter of Old George Spillers as she is named in his will; from King William Co. VA. Will was in Greenville Dist. SC where he died. Ok all of these people later connect........................................................ What I am trying to learn is this: Was there an earlier connection between any of them? Did they know each other for "YEARS" prior to these two known Unions? Did they meet in King William Ct. VA? Or is this a group of people who had come over together? Have you seen anything at all that may help out some with this? 3. Kent; I got the ref. to White-Kidd land being adj from Collins Cemeteries of Caroline Co. Va. vol 2. I looked on my Va. Gazeteer and atlas and Burke's Bridge Road dead Ends in Kidds Fork. I got the atlas through Barns and Noble. They are wonderful. It was meant for campers and fishing, so they have lots of smaller streams and roads. There is one for every state. Burkes's Bridge Road is #654 by Penola. The cemetery books are most helpful. Jean Jean Larson [email protected] Why Wait? Move to EarthLink.
