Looking for any information about James Wilson who lived in Campbell County in the late 1700s. He served in the Revolutionary War, and was severely wounded. A family story says that he lived on a plantation in Virginia for several years before serving in the war, and leaving for Ohio in late 1800. He had several children, but the only one I know for certain is John Wilson, born 8 July 1796 in Campbell County. I have been told that James appears on the 1790 tax list for Campbell County, and the census for that same year. I wonder if someone who lives in that area and has access to the old records could check to see if a James Wilson is listed in the tax list and the census records. I am physically unable to go check out this info. I will very much appreciate any help, and will reimburse anyone for any and all costs involved with this search.
