This family settled in the Leesville area and allegedly had 15 children. The known names are: Martha Ann b. a/1816-did not marry; Sarah Spencer b. a/1818-did not marry; Stephen Philip b. a/1825 m. Josephine RUDY in Henderson co KY; James Nathaniel b a/1827-did not marry; John Thomas b. a/1830 m. Mary King DUNNINGTON; Mary Jane b. a/1832-did not marry; Isabella Pettis b. a/1834-did not marry; Henry b. a/1836 d. a/1849; twin of Henry-Mansel T. b. a/1836 m. Sally BENNETT; Susan b. a/1838 m. Joshua WOODING, there is also a daughter, Elizabeth, in this family who married a Thomas WILLIAMS and moved to Louisiana, unknown as to age, have not found in 1850 census. The unmarried daughters stayed in Leesville, John T. and Mary K. DUNNINGTON SMITH are in Lynchburg in 1880.
