The possible confusion here is that there are 2 units (each with there own Howard book) one is the 22nd Virginia Inf and the other is the 22nd battlion. The Charlotte men are in the battalion. There is also an artillary unit which has a number of Charlotte men in it. In the A E howard series there is a book of letters home by John Lee Holt who is a son of James F.
