He was born in Franklin, GA in 1897 to Samuel B. Morris and Janette Hopkins but moved to Lynchburg after his parents died in a fire. Both of Samuel's parents were born in Virginia. He had a sister named Ola whose whereabouts are unknown and also an uncle named Pritchitt Morris who owned property in Lynchburg, probably from the 1930's. If anyone has any information on these people, please contact me.
