The next meeting of The Campbell County Historical Society will be this Sunday, January 26, 2003 at 3:30 PM in Rustburg at the Historic Courthouse. The guest speaker will be Jane Baber White. Ms. White is a full time volunteer at the Old City Cemetery, in Lynchburg (originally known as the Methodist Cemetery). She is the Director of the Old City Cemetery and is its Restoration Chairman. The cemetery is cared for by the Southern Memorial Association under a contractual arrangement with the city. There are four museums on the grounds of the Old City Cemetery and she will present a program and slide presentation including an overview of these and other projects. Jane has family roots in Campbell Co.; Jane has helped with research for the Campbell Co. Historical Society cemetery project and her mother authored several books still highly valued as research sources. As always the meeting is open to the public. Everyone is invited to attend this very informative meeting. If you are not a member and wish to join please e-mail me and I will send you a PDF file with the application. Dues are $10 per year and you will receive a quarterly newsletter pertaining to past and present events in Campbell County as well as first notifications to new publications such as the Cemetery Books.
