The graves were in a shaded area beneath a large tree and it was very late in the day when I visited. My recollection is that several of the grave markers were readily readable from up close, but that several were also no longer readable. I took some photos at the time which I seem to have misplaced. My recollection is that only a couple of the photographs came out reasonably well, but that Robert ALEXANDER's grave marker was readable from one of the better photographs that I developed. I will attempt to locate these and send them along. I am descended from Capt. Robert ALEXANDER (b Nov 1746 - VA, d 20 Nov 1820 - Campbell, VA) and Anne AUSTIN (b 10 Mar 1758, d Abt 1815 - Campbell, VA) through their daughter Catherine Wilson ALEXANDER (b 17 Jan 1796, d 26 Jul 1838). Catherine Wilson ALEXANDER married Nathaiel West PAYNE (b 11 Apr 1790, d 1841 - Lynchburg, Campbell, VA) and their daughter Catherine Withers PAYNE married my lineal ROPER ancestor Benjamin Eliscus ROPER.
