There are also connections to Surry, Bedford, Lunenburg & Sussex Counties VA, as well as early Rowan, Surry, Guilford & other NC counties. My direct Cox line eventually was in Williamson Co TN and Ouachita / Hempstead Co AR. Our lineage also includes Phoebe Stokes (b: abt 1738) who married Josiah Freeman in Surry Co NC and their daughter Prudence married James Barham. There was also Agnes Stokes who married Josiah's brother Arthur Freeman in 1739. Some of our Barhams also married into the Clark and Jones families of southeast VA.
