I have copies of the court documents where my ggrandmother Melissa Richardson Simmons Eades divorced John Simmons and her half-brother with whom she lived, was named George H. Turner. There are so many coincidences in the information you posted. What changes is my Melissa was a Richardson and to my knowledge was never married to a Wells and her half-brother was named GEORGE not JOHN. My Melissa and half-brother George lived a quarter of a mile above the city of Lynchburg (as stated in the court paper). My Melissa had a son, George William Simmons. Where did you find the information on the name John Turner and the Wells info? I got the court papers from Pat Baber and can scan and send copies if she didn't already send you a set.
