    3. I think you are exactly right based on my own past study & researching. In order to convince the doubters, you might want to tell them the bond, the minister's return, and the consent notes are different documents, created by entirely different people, for different reasons, & usually at different points in time, e. g. the Bond has a date and after the wedding was performed a bit later sometimes, the minister filled out and signed & dated his "return" to the County Clerk. A "consent note" usually has a date earlier than the Bond date, but sometimes the same day. Some consent notes created by a parent or guardian also have witnesses who signed in agreement......... those names are very often good clues to other relatives if not known aforehand by the researcher.
