His age was given as 27 years old, and birthdate listed as 17 April 1890. I believe he was actually born in 1881. His employer was L.E. Smith. He was married. On the 1930 Census for Campbell County, Virginia, was a Lacy MARSHALL listed age 49, married to Josephine for 16 years. Two children: Lacy Eugene age 10 and Julian A. (Winfred) age 7. This is my granddaughter's family for sure. I have been unable to connect Lacy to a father. I believe he is descended from John Wilkins, MARSHALL III, born 20 November 1784 Little Cub Creek, Charlotte County, Virginia and Mary Hancock born 17 October 1798 Red House, Charlotte County, Virginia, but I can't prove that. On the 1910 Census for Southside, Appomattox County, Virginia, Lacy was living with Charles H. Marshall Head of Household, age 22. Below is the listing the of residents in the household. Icy age 61 Aunt R___ age 37 Aunt Nathan D. age 52 Uncle Lacy D. age 20 Brother Joseph H. age 18 Cousin Nita K. age 12 Cousin Next residence: Head of Household William A. (Atkins) Marshall age 60, born 14 June 1850 Ellen D. age 62. William A. and Nathan D. Marshall age 52, are reported to be sons of Henry Wilkins Marshall born 31 December 1825, and Sarah Icy T. Hancock born 29 December 1828. John Wilkins Marshall III had five sons, one of which was Henry Wilkins Marshall. One of the other sons was surely the father of Charles H. and Lacy D. Marshall. If anyone is connected to this family, and you know anything about Lacy D. Marshall, please get in touch. I have already had a great deal of help, good people have sent to me the Census copy that I have posted above. I do thank everyone who has helped me search this family. All I had was by word of mouth, from now deceased family, but no records. The family had told me of Charlotte County connections, and also that some of the family had come from Red House. Thank you, Joy
