Thomas Dougherty came from Ireland around 1729 to Virginia to what is now Campbell Co. He once sold a factory he owned in 1780 for 10,000 English pounds. This couldn't have been in VA and he does not seem to have a factory in DE.??????? We don't know if Thomas or his family moved on to Sussex Co.,De.
