I am descended from Hudson (Hutson) Blankinship>Archibald Blankinship>Rowland Blankinship. Realize there were a number of marriages between Trents and Blankinships in Campbell County. The records appear to confirm several things hinted at in other records: 1) Archibald Blankinship had 120 acres in his own right before his father Hudson died (although he may have bought this from his father's 400 acres.} 2) Archibald appears to have bought his mother Edith's dower land (about 90-100 acres) from the other heirs after she died in the mid 1830s. 3)However, it may be that he sold/gave this land to his son Rowland. In the 1850 census, Archibald has land worth $1,200 and Rowland land worth $900, which would appear to match the above at a value of $10 an acre. Several other names are of interest to me, including Andrew Fields, Jesse Burton, William Organ, Letitia Herndon. Thanks again and let me know if I can provide you with any additional information.
