    3. Helen, That's a good question. I searched my rather extensive family tree database for what "Q" might stand for in a name, and I found quite a few. Here are some suggestions. I found these middle names: Quarles Quillen Quincy Quiney Quinn Quitman Quinton Since the president from 1825-1829 was John Quincy Adams, and many people named their children after famous people, then it's likely that Quincy became a common middle name during that period. In addition, I found these last names that start with "Q" (and since many people, then and now, used their mother's maiden name for their children's middle name, these might have become middle names in the following generation): de Quincey Qaudlop Quaife Quicke Quinley Quirk York-Quijano And also the first names: Quinton Quentin I also found several female first and middle names that start with "Q"; Queen Quenelle Quinnie That's certainly not a complete list, it's just what I found in my database. Hope it gives you some ideas! Drema http://genealogy.drema.com Jim & Helen Stanford wrote: > Sorry I can not answer your question, but maybe you can help me. I > have a John Q. 3. Denice, Why didn't you write me direct? William Buford Russell is my grandfather. He died 15 Dec 1971 and is buried in a private, family cemetery near what was his home (and his father's and grandfather's before him) in Campbell County just off Route 29 approx 2.5 miles south of Lynchburg. His first wife, Elizabeth Winston (Withers) is buried there also. His second wife, Lillie H. (Ewart), is buried in Spring Hill Cemetery which is located in the City of Lynchburg. The SSDI is correct in listing Pappa's residence as City of Lynchburg. He was residing in a nursing home at the time of his death. If I can help you further, please let me know.
