I have information on this family for 100 years before my Anthony Hood was married there in 1825 but I cannot connect them. I am most intrested in finding out what hapened to the Tucker Hood estate and who his children were. He died in 1785 but his estate appeared on the tax lists for another 20 years. How can I find out what happened to his estate? Mary Lou GARRETT who married Walker A. MARTIN b abt 1871. In 1920 & 1930 they were living in Bedford Co, VA. 4. Martha Jane GARRETT who married Willis MARTIN. In 1920 they were living in Lynchburg, VA and he was working in a cotton mill. His widowed mother, Lettie B. MARTIN and his sister, Wiltsie MARTIN were living with them. 5. Anna Bell GARRETT who married Robert MARTIN and at one point is said to have lived in Lynchburg, VA. Pugh. Samuel, born about 1833 married Elizabeth, born about 1840, before 1860. Elizabeth's mother's name was Frances Martin, born about 1798. Their children were Wm. E. c. 1862, Cornelia F. (1866- 1902), Lilly J.(1868), James D.(1869), L(eon?)(1873), Martha(1875), and Paul(1878). All family members are listed in the 1880 census, but I have not found any except Cornelia in the 1900 census. Cornelia married Robert Hall Thornhill, Sr.(1845-1941) in 1894. I have complete information on Cornelia's descendents, but none on the rest of the family, and would also like to know where she is buried.
