Cindy, Appomattox County used to be a part of Campbell County, so you might go by there too. I just found that out, looking for White Marsh that is sort of I think maybe on the County line. Karen, I missed Renny WORLEY on 1787 Pers. Prop. Tax List for Campbell and see he was a taxable male on List A. The other two were on Tax list B. Cindy, You may want to check Lynchburg city hall as well. The VA cities are incorporated separately from the counties and have their own separate birth, death and marriage records. Also, the city library will have the local newspaper on microfilm. That is invaluable for obituaries and etc. Happy hunting! Don't know who William is, but now that you mention it, I am curious as to where George Overstreet Reveley got his middle name. He was born in 1848 in Campbell County, near Lynchburg, never married, and died in 1928. His father was Robert Jennings Reveley, and his mother was Elizabeth Doss, both of Campbell County. This is the only occurrence of Overstreet I have found. There was a Mary Overstreet who married Edward Doss in about 1780. Chances are, your Elizabeth Doss was descended from them. Hello list, I am new to research in Campbell. I am hoping those of you who are experienced can help me with the above list of families. They all seem to have married each other, and my John Worley who lived in Campbell for a short time from about 1785 to 1790, witnessed a will and a deed for John Dawn and named his son Finch. I assume these folks all lived in a particular part of the county; can you tell me where? And does anybody know where any of them came from before Campbell? THanks for any help you can give me. John W. Kidd apparently died in 1859 and Ann then married William Sandy. Does anyone have any information on these names? Charles was in Hardeman County, Tennessee by the 1870's and died there in 1900.
