If any has any of these books, I would appreciate if you would take a moment to check to see if there are any Webber in the book or books. 1. [VACAMPBE-L] PADGETT FAMILY IN LYNCHBURG
    2. Hello All, I am new to the list and am hoping some have a connection to two Padgett families who were in the 1840, 1850 and 1860 census in Lynchburg. Their names were Tinsly (Tinsley) Padgett with wife Elizabeth and Lindsay (LIndsey) B. Padgett with wife Ellen. Both lived near each other and had occupations as tailors. I am assuming they were brothers. I believe they had a sister named Demaris Padgett who married James Pitzer in Lynchburg in August, 1840. Thanks for any help! Linda

He was a Dearing. My ggrandfather was William Walker. He and two brothers were listed as Dearing in the 1870 census for Campbel County, children of Judith and Samuel Walker. I had been told that my ggrandfather and his two brothers were born to a slave master or overseer. I don't know if Judith's parents names were Dearing or if she was married previously, or if these brothers were the sons of a Dearing. Any informantion you might have would be helpful

My name is always being mispelled. People always assume that it is with an "E" instead of an "A". It's been like that all my life, so I'm sure documents and records are just as faulty. I'm researching my great grandfather Richard Mack Lindsay who had a brother named Bill Lindsay. William Lindsay died in Maysville, Kentucky, August 7, 1942.. I just received a copy of his death certificate today that says he was born, July 06, 1863 in Campbell County, Virginia. At the time of his death he was divorced from Viola Trumbo. I'm not sure if the last name is correct because it was a signature. Anyway your William F. LINDSEY if the spelling of his last name and middle initial may be an error then he would've been 23 years old at least if yours and mine are the same. My great grandfather, Richard Mack Lindsay was reported to have been born in Richmond, Virginia, July 04, 1870. He had two sisters that I know of named Annie Simpson and Lillian Knuckles. My great grandfather died, November 11 , 1943 and at the time of his death it was written on his Record of Death (which was filled out by his son Charles Walter Lindsay) that he also had a brother living in Maysville, Kentucky. His two sisters that were listed were living in Texas but no city or county was mentioned. I'm assuming that if William H. LINDSAY and Richard Mack LINDSAY were brothers that possibly the informant on the death certificate, "Charles Walter LINDSAY" did not know that his uncle William H. LINDSAY died before his father Richard Mack LINDSAY. That would explain why William/Bill LINDSAY was listed as still living 15 months after his death(Aug. 1942-Nov. 1943). I don't believe from what I've seen of the "LINDSAY's" that there was a lot of communication between them. They aren't a tight knit family from my own experiences. I sent away for a copy of a William H. Lindsay's Death Certificate hoping to find the missing parent of my great grandfather which was listed as UNKNOWN on both, Richard Mack Lindsay and William H. Lindsay's death certificate. I never did find what I was looking for but it did lead me to Campbell County, Virginia. For 11-12 years I've searched all through Richmond, Henrico County and Richmond City never finding the match. I'm hoping now with Campbell County, I'll find what it is that I've been searching for all these years. I hope to hear from someone who might have a connection. Thanks for your time! Matthew S.
