Hi, On March 20 I wrote to the Campbell County Clerk in Rustburg, VA with a list of some old records that I would like to order. I asked how much it would cost since I thought they would want their money before copying and sending any records. I had the citations from will books, marriage records, etc. However, I never received a reply. Did I send my request to the wrong place? Or, do they just not provide copies of records? Thanks, Helen [email protected]

I have copies of the court documents where my ggrandmother Melissa Richardson Simmons Eades divorced John Simmons and her half-brother with whom she lived, was named George H. Turner. There are so many coincidences in the information you posted. What changes is my Melissa was a Richardson and to my knowledge was never married to a Wells and her half-brother was named GEORGE not JOHN. My Melissa and half-brother George lived a quarter of a mile above the city of Lynchburg (as stated in the court paper). My Melissa had a son, George William Simmons. Where did you find the information on the name John Turner and the Wells info? I got the court papers from Pat Baber and can scan and send copies if she didn't already send you a set.

It's a small white church with four columns on the front. If I remember correctly there was a cemetery is located behind it. I think the name is Eli Bethel Church and it was being restored. The cornerstone indicates it was built in 1837. Can anyone provide me with the location of this church as we were all around the area the entire day and being given the tour by someone else so I have no idea where we were at the time. Thanks for any assistance.
