If we go further in the family, we shall see. William J. Moore married Martha Brightwell of Prince Edward county. Their children were: Samuel Lindsey, Josiah Edward, Rebecca Jane, Capitola Reed, Ida Stokes, Martha Elizabeth and Alice Cornelia Capitola and Ida Stokes appear to be twins and lived only a very short time. Martha Elizabeth was my grandmother. I am looking for a marriage record of William amd Martha. I am in possession of an application to the Daughters of the Confederacy that my grandmother started filling out, but didn't mail. In this, she listed 4 uncles being Calvin, Samuel, John and Edward. I would be interested to know if these facts seem to be a part of your family.

Calvin's son Reuben is my great grandfather. I also found some war records for the brothers on one of the genealogy sites. I would like to know about the Bondurant connection. K. Dudley, I am afraid I do not have many Youngs in my database and none of them are the Youngs you seek. I am responding to your query because I am curious about Susannah Clark that married John Bailey you mention in your database. Can you tell me her parents' names or the time of the marriage. I have 3 Susannah Clarks from Charlotte/Campbell County in my database but no marriage for any of them. I think I can probably help you with any Clarks from this area that you seek. D. Briggs

I am the Secretary of the Campbell County Historical Society. One of my responsibilities is to publish the quarterly newsletter The Campbell County Chronicle. I would like to experiment with a new feature in the October issue of the newsletter. Do you have an OLD photo of a home, business, church, school or family from Campbell County? If you know where or who it is of that would be wonderful but even if you don't but you are sure it's from Campbell County I would like to publish it in the newsletter. You can write a brief paragraph describing what it is or who / what you think it may be and hopefully someone will be able to confirm this for you. I will publish only what contact information you wish about yourself (name, address, phone, email). Since this will be an experiment to see what members reaction will be (whether they like it or not) I will only accept e-mailed photos for now. Space will be limited so it will be on a first come, first serve basis. Hopefully this will serve two purposes, to get you a new family connection and to be an interesting new item for the newsletter. Please send your photos to [email protected] and BE SURE to put CCHS Newsletter in the subject line. With all the nasty viruses going around if I don't know you or it's not a topic relevant to me, I delete without reading. If you are not a member of the CCHS it does not matter. I will send you a complimentary copy of the newsletter if your photo is published. I am curious if there are any connections to the Clark family that I am unaware of. There are associations for this family in Halifax County VA. Some in this family were in Campbell County. John Clark's discharge papers burned in a house fire in this County. Although I do not know who he was John was possibly in Montgomery County VA after the Revolutionary War. He was in Pittsylvania County VA by 1786. These families all seemed to migrate to the same areas. I have yet to locate the first wife of John Clark but I would imagine she is from one of the associated families below. Ambrose Cook Hawker, Josiah Earp, Zachariah Butt, , Zachariah Pruett and John and Leonard Clarke , John and William Stuart / Stewart and Thomas Hammond were all from Maryland. I am attempting to track down information on Owen JACKSON, who died in the Lynchburg area, in 1910. He was playing baseball for the local professional team. At some point during the season, he contracted Typhoid Fever, and subsequently passed away. Are there any listers who have knowledge of the baseball team, from that time, able to help? Where can I obtain information about Owen's death? I don't have a specific date to research. Baseball, similar to current times, was probably played in the April to September time frame. We suspect he was stricken in the spring, but that is only a guess. Do any local libraries or newspapers provide lookup/research services for this type of problem? Thanks to all who respond.
