Marlene, The 1800 Tax List does include a John West in the listing for District One. The entry is as follows: West, John (S R) 1-3-2-0 where the numbers mean: 1 "white male tithables" 3 "horses owned" 2 "Negro tithables" 0 "Negros aged over twelve" There is no indication as to what the (S R) means.
