I'm a new subscriber to this list and am looking for personal information about my direct ancestor, Archibald Boaz (1739-1813), who lived in western Buckingham County from around 1786 to 1791. On Nov. 7, 1791, he signed a petition asking the Gen. Assembly to establish a tobacco inspection station and warehouse at Bent Creek where it flowed into the Fluvanna River. A year later he signed another petition asking to have a town established there. Is anything still at that location? In April, 1785 he was tried for and acquitted of murder (a duel?). His wife's name might have been May, last name unknown. Any information about these would be greatly appreciated. Thomas Boaz
