Hello. I am looking for information on the Terry's who lived in Buckingham Co. in the late 1700's. I have a JOHN TERRY in the Franklin Co., VA census of 1850 and 1860 who stated his birthplace as Buckingham Co. This would have been around 1785-1795. Also in the Franklin/Patrick Co. area there was a Rev. War pensioner named JOSEPH TERRY who was born in Chesterfield Co. and moved as a child to Buckingham Co., then to Franklin Co. about 1820. So I'm stuck with no will or other data in Franklin or Patrick Co's that would help me find out if these two men were father-son or uncle-nephew or cousins...or what! I know that there were Rakes who lived in the same area as the Terry's -- both in Buckingham (around Walton's Fork) and Franklin Co. (the Long Branch district). And there was a HENRY TERRY who married a POLLY RAKES in Buckingham who appear to have been the same as Henry and Mary Terry of Franklin Co. So what!? I sure wish I could put it all together. Any clues or information would be most appreciated. Thanks. Charles Davis in Roanoke.
