Seeking any information on James TURNER born 29 July 1799 and married Elsah PENDELTON on 16 Dec. 1818. The only info I have is that when James was 7 his father died. His father is said to have fought in the Revolutionary War. After the war he worked as a blacksmith until he died (story says he fell off of a building which caused much suffering and then suffered from an attack of rheumatism that eventually caused his death) leaving his wife, Nancy and 3 children.....2 boys and 1 girl. James was the yongest of the three. He did not go to school but worked on the farm and when was 19 or so became a general manager and controller of different plantations. He moved out of Virginia to Wilson County TN in 1823. I don't know James father's name or his brother or sisters name. Hope someone knows more than I on this. Thanks for reading! Dianna K.
