My Buckingham Co. family is made up of a Miss Ballou [many spellings] who was b. ca 1769 and m. John Bernard Nunnally, son of John Nunnally, a Rev. War soldier. They were married about 1794 and had these children: A1. Robert b. 1796 m. Sarah Snoddy in Buckingham Co. He probably d. in Missouri A2. Morris b. 1800 m. Nancy S. Pedigo, probably in Barren Co., KY A3. Nelson W. b.1801 m. Leticia Stanton Hicklin, was IL State Rep. and Senator around 1846-58. moved to and d. in Iowa. A4. John Ballou b. 1802 m. Elizabeth Haden White and d. Barren Co., KY 1893 A5. Meekness m. Sanford Pace in Summer Shade, KY A6. Sally b. 1810 - no data A7. Walter b. 1813 no data A8. William L.B. b. 1815 d. ca 1890 probably in MO m. 1. Jane Tudor, m. 2. Marsella m. 3. Zilpah Ferril, m. 4. Elizabeth Kuykendall The family lived on Slate River near Leonard Ballow in Buckingham Co. They moved with John's probable brother, Josiah Nunnally and his wife #2. Judith Bransford, daughter of Thomas Bransford and Ann Lee Snoddy. who also left Buckingham Co. at the same time to relocate in Barren Co., KY. I have almost total ancestor and descendant information on the Nunnallys, but need desperately to know which Ballow,etc. line our Grandma is descended from. She is thought to be half Cherokee Indian.
