The Buckingham County Friends of the Library provide a genealogy service to patrons, both in and out of state. This service is provided by volunteers, with all proceeds benefiting the library. Document research covers the library's genealogy holdings, as well as those holdings at the County Museum and Courthouse. Since the Courthouse burned in 1869 only selected records are available for those years prior to 1869. Copies of genealogical entries from publications are provided, including research labor, at $7.00 per hour. Communications to the library regarding genealogy research will result in an estimate being furnished to potential customers.
