I've also wondered if our line of Elisha is somehow connected to the Joseph Fallwell family also living in Marshall Co., TN in 1860. As I recall (??!) this fellow is from NJ or something like that?! It seems odd to me that two families with a fairly uncommon surname would end up in the same rural TN county unless there was some connection. I also wonder if our Elisha and this Joseph are also related to the famous Philadelphia professional artist Samuel Folwell (note spelling) (1764-1824). There is a good story (with photos of their works) about Samuel and his wife Ann Elizabeth in the Feb. 1981 issue of "The Magazine Antiques". He and his wife ran a school to teach needlepoint etc... to young girls... If Joseph is indeed from NJ he is probably a closer relative to Samuel than Elisha, but the Philadelphia to VA to TN migration was a very common trip for many of our TN ancestors and I wouldn't be surprised if t! hey were cousins of some type. Maybe if enough people read these queries and know of any males with the Falwell/Fallwell/Follwell/Folwell surnames they can convince them to participate in a DNA test to establish connections?! I recently did it for my Jones line and it did establish a rather surprising circa 1700-1800 PA to NC to TN connection! In the meantime, we can just keep searching and hoping! Good luck, Dave
