It includes the names of 192 men who signed two petitions, with the same words, to the Virginia House of Delegates in 1787 to allow various churches to use church property (glebe is church porperty) that local people had paid for and paid taxes to support. Before Independence it was used exclusively and owned by "the Late Established of England," the Anglican Church. Later it became the Buckingham Baptist Church acquired the property.
