I think you are referring to the citation in Roger G. Ward's book where Peter PANKEY bought 2 acres on Bedford Road from David MCCORMACK. WRR is Willis River and 12SW does mean 12 miles southwest of the courthouse. But Bedford Road is a mystery because this is the only instance when Bedford Road is mentioned in any of Mr Ward's books. In other land transactions by David MCCORMACK he refers to land being near "the Main Road" (12SW). And in another transaction he refers to David MCCORMACK's land as being listed "variously as Hudson Morris residence, Morris Tavern, or Stage Road (12SW)". Ruby Talley Smith
