Gosh Sherri, I don't know where to begin. Everywhere I look (it seems) through Buckingham County records I see the Patteson name. They were everywhere in the county. For example, my G-G-G-Grandfather, Henry K. Bryant, served in the Buckingham Yancy Guard, 56th Va Infantry, Company D. They were led by Col. Camm Patteson. Did you have any questions in particular? I'm fortunate in that I live and work near the Library of Virginia and I'll be glad to look up something for you. Also, if you'll look in the census records at Ancestry.com for Buckingham County, Slate River District, I believe you'll come across many Patteson folks. I've also noticed that Slate River was not the only place they were seen. They were all over the county. Let me know if I can help you. Sandy Bryant-Valk
