One business still operating in New Canton is a general store, which I visited last fall. The folks who run it have been around a long time and every piece of information eventually goes through there. I was very lucky that the family line I was looking for was known to those who frequent the store. I also bought a New Canton T-shirt. It was hanging with some others and had been there quite some time. I feel sure that anyone I saw who recognized the New Canton name on the shirt would have to know my family line there. I can't recall the exact location right now. Anderson's Garage was operating until the past few years. It still has the sign, but is no lnger in business.
