Hi Janice, I live in Florida and went to Buckingham Co. twice in the past 18 months. The one thing I was unprepared for was how few places there are to stay. Motels/hotels are few and far between. The B. County museum is a nice stopover...depending on your time frame. We did get to go in and it was worth the adventure. A few blocks up the road was a really nice craft store and cafe. I don't know if it is still there, but the folks were great and the lady there knew a good bit of local history. The food was good, too. This was in the town of Buckingham Courthouse. I also went to Curdsville and on a later trip to New Canton, but they are wide stops in the road. I didn't go to the courthouse as it was a weekend. I have talked to them there and they were nice. I telephoned them and they sent me a county map with all the little roads and hollers on it. I was told the library was a big asset, but I didn't get to go there. A real life saver!!!!! Hope this helps.
