Barbara: Well, sort of. I try to keep to my husband's line straight on back and not look for others of the same name As I just said in another message, one Alexander Stinson (Sr.) born ca 1703 landed in Virginia when he was about between 15 and 16 years old in 1719. He appears to be the immigrant ancestor of the Virginia Stinsons. There are many records lost for Buckingham Co. where he lived and therefore there is much which cannot be found. There are "guesses", there are "appears". For instance "it appears that Joanna was the wife of Alexander Stinson Sr. and the daughter of Joseph Hooper. Frances L. Stinson of Dallas TX wrote a credible manuscript on these Stinsons, and the Rev. Charles Stinson may still have some of them left from the Memorial service for the Stinson in the old cemetery. They did cost $l0 each however I don't know if there was any supply left. His email address is [email protected] Idalyn Stinson [email protected] ==================================================== ----- Original Message ----- From: Barbara Pearson <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, March 12, 2001 11:43 AM Subject: [VABUCKIN] Stinson > Posted on: Buckingham County, Va Query Forum > Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Va/Buckingham/10990 > > Surname: Stinson > ------------------------- > > Noticed that one of the surnames you are researching is Stinson.
