Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HAC.2ACE/67.166 Message Board Post: The referenced Stephen Davidson in Buckingham was born in Georgia in 1785, per the 1850 census in KY (where Stephen had moved). As such, I am not at all convinced that he was a member of the same family as the other Davidsons who were in Buckingham in 1810 and 1820 ( there was no known "GA connection" for them whatsoever). Stephen was on the 1830 Campbell Co., VA census, and as stated above, he eventually moved to KY. There was also another/older (born about 1757) Stephen Davidson on the 1810 and 1820 Buckingham censuses, but he WAS a member of the other family in Buckingham. I have no idea if the John Davidson in Buckingham on the 1810 census was John Benning Davidson (from the other family) or if he could have been the father of Stephen from GA. At present, I see no eidence that Stephen's father came to Buckingham, but who knows? There was no John Davidson on the 1820 Buckingham census. There were several John Davidsons out in Bedford/Campbell Co., VA from the late 1700s though the early 1800s. They were from a family that does not appear to be related to the other Davidson family in Buckingham, but they COULD have been related to Stephen Davidson from GA. By the way, the Stephen from GA eventually started to spell the family name "Davisson."
