Mike: I got your note and this is a small amount of info about my family. I have been doing research on this branch since 1985 and I have about 120 formal pages of notes, pictures, etc. If this is what you are looking for then let me know and I will send you a copy. All I ask is that you sent any info you have back so we can share. I started this research as my father--Philip Henderson Moore, son of John Taylor Moore, son of Philip Shelton, son of Joseph Robert, son of Philip Moore the Revolutionary soldier--died before my children were born and they do not know this branch of the family well. Johann Philipp Mahr (Philip Moore) was born 1-7-1754 in Dudenhofen Germany. He was sent over to fight for the British in the Revolutionary War. He was captured at the Battle of Saratoga and help for a year at a prison camp near Winter Hill. He was moved from there to a camp near Charlottesville and later moved to a camp near Winchester where he went AWOL with a good friend, Peter Stein. When recaptured, they were sent to a camp near Reading, PA. He came back to VA, married, and fathered two sons and one daughter. Do not know anything about one son. The daughter was Mary Elizabeth (born 1801) who married Elisha Bryant son of Austin Bryant of Buckingham County. They moved to Kentucky in 1824 and settled there. The last son was Joseph Robert (born between 1780/1790) He married Mary Fulcher of Buckingham Countyu and settled near New Canton in Buckingham County. Joseph Robert fathered Philip Shelton (born 1831/4) who married Nancy H. Taylor from Buckingham County and then settled in Nelson County after the Civil War. Robert Lee (born about 1836) who married Mary Frances Desper from Louisa County and also settled in Nelson County, Joseph N. (born 8-1836) who married Nancy S, Scruggs and lived in Albemarle County. Hartwell Sterp[hen (born 1838) married Fanny Ann Wade Jefferson daughter of Peter Field Jefferson--niece of Thomas Jefferson, Mary Elizabeth (born 1839) who married Charlie Dent and then James Wamsley Profitt, Frances Lee (born 1841) who married Vincent Cobb, a son named George who died shortly after birth and a daughter Nancy J. born 1830.
