I am looking for information on the town of Howardsville (which I believe is located in present day Buckingham County, Virginia) and its involvement in the Civil War. My great-great-grandfather enlisted as a private on April 19, 1861 in Howardsville and was mustered in to Company D of the 19th Virginia Infantry (which came to be known as the Howardsville Grays) on May 10, 1861.
