You are talking about Cumberland Baptist Church (Jenkins Church). It is the oldest organized Baptist church in Cumberland Co. John DUNKUM was my direct ancestor. Joseph JENKINS was his son-in-law. They were the first trustees. Joseph JENKINS was a carpenter as well as a preacher. He built the original log building in 1810 that served the church for 40 years. Since 1969 annual homecoming services are held on the 4th Sunday in August. I do not think there are services any other time. The church is located on Rt 624, also called Jenkins Church Road.
