    3. I am still trying to find 1) the maiden name of Mary Jane, 2) their date of marriage (according to census info I have their first child was born about 1851). Richard S. (b: abt. 1821) is the son of Elijah and Nancy(?) who were both born around 1795; Mary Jane was born about 1832. I was in Buckingham in October and the nice lady (don't remember her name) at the Historical Society location had gathered all the info she had on Blankenship's but did not have the info I am seeking. Any help would be appreciated. It might also be noted that Richard S. joined the Confederate Army, 20th Infantry, Company E, Lee Guards, on 5/20/1861 in Buckingham Courthouse, Va. He was taken prisoner of war at Rash Mountain 7/11/1861. Does anyone know the whereabouts of Rich Mountain in western Virginia? While he was in the army, the family moved to Bedford and he is buried at the Confederate Cemetery (Longwood) in Bedford. That is where my grandfather was born. Janice
