My great-great-great grandmother was Elizabeth Smith, wife of Joseph Nuckolls. They were married, probably in Buckingham, sometime around 1820, when he came to Buckingham from Louisa County. I strongly believe that she was the daughter of Nathan Smith of Buckingham County. Nathan was living about mid 1700s to early 1800s. The oldest child of Joseph and Elizabeth was named Nathan William Nuckolls; William I presume is from his father. The 1810 census confirms a daughter in the household of Nathan Smith at the right age. Does anyone know anything about the family of Nathan Smith?
