    1. [VABUCKIN-L] Brooks/Kyles of Brunswick, Buckingham, & Albemarle,VA & Hawkins,TN
    2. April Kyle & Wm R. BLADH
    3. Hi, My name is April Kyle Bladh. My Robert KYLE (son of Robert of old Albemarle & Buckingham Cos., VA & Betty-possibly CAMPBELL, dau. of Hugh CAMPBELL the 2nd). My Robert KYLE jr. was born in 1739 in Tyrone Co.,Ireland and died 1820 in Hawkins Co.,TN. Capt. Robert (Rev. War soldier) md my Leah BROOKS (b.1747 Brunswick Co.,VA-d.1832 Hawkins Co.,TN). Leah was the sister to Castleton (killed by indians 1777 Washington Co.,VA), Littleton, Thomas, & George BROOKS (Rev. War soldiers who also ended up in TN or nearby in NC). The reason I think Leah & her brothers were born in Brunswick Co., VA is because that is what Leah's brother Littleton BROOKS' Rev. War pension record said he "was born near the Nottoway Bridge in Brunswick Co., VA". I found a Thos & Mary BROOKS in Brunswick Co.,VA at about the time Littleton was born. Thos was the son of John (d.1751 Brunswick) & Elizabeth BROOKS. I suspect that John was the son of John (d.1729 Surry Co.,VA) and that his mother was Mary ELDRIDGE, but this is a lot of speculation. There was a George BROOKS also that lived just across the Nottoway River who also had a son Thomas BROOKS. I know I'm not related to the Robert BROOKS of Brunswick Co., VA because he had a lot of money, property, and important in-laws. Therefore, it was probably the poor John, poor Thos. or his brother Wm BROOKS who were the parents of my Leah & her brothers. I suspect they moved from Brunswick to Charlottesville, VA and that is where my Leah & Capt. Robert Kyle were married. First they lived in Botetourt Co., VA, Washington Co., VA and then moved to Hawkins Co., TN where they are buried. Any one who can help me sort out my BROOKS or if Robert KYLE'S wife Betty was the daughter of Hugh CAMPBELL II? 2. Hello Fellow Rooters I just found this list and subbed today. I have roots in Buckingham and live in Fluvanna Co - so here goes..... I am seeking a parents and sibs of Samuel ROBERTSON (?ROBINSON?) b: cir 1810 probably Buckingham, married Sarah (Sally) Kidd. He named his sons, Thomas, James Henry, and Samuel. Thomas and Henry are names from the Kidd side, and I have wondered if James was named for Sam's father, but have not found anything to connect. I am trying to compile lots of stuff on ROBERTSON/ROBINSON et al, in Buckingham and then rule out some and focuss on the ones left. This is long process and I am not very far along. 1. Searching Surname VENABLE
    2. Hi Rooters, We all have mysteries to solve, and I am hoping someone out there can help me solve mine. Josiah VENABLE, his wife, Jane Clack THORNTON, their five children; Joseph, Elizabeth, Mary Jane, Abraham, and Richard, lived in Buckingham Co. He inherited land around 1798 from his brother Abraham, who had purchased it from George STINSON. Josiah was born @1763 in Pr. Edw. Co., Jane was born in 1778 in Pr. Edw. Co. They married there in Dec 1799. He was listed in the 1800 and 1810 Buckingham Co. Tax list, and in the 1810 Census for Buckingham Co., VA. I have no will or death records for him. I have a photo copy of page 374 of the Fluvanna Co., VA Publick Claims book. Book 6, Page 47 -- Guardians Bond -- Jane Venable and Peter P. Thornton, November 16, 1818 for Jane VENABLE as guardian of Mary and Eliz. VENABLE, orphans of Josiah VENABLE. Perhaps he died in Fluvanna Co., or his death record was recorded there. Can anyone direct me where to search for this information? Jane shows up in the "EARLIEST LAND BOOK" of Lynchburg in 1818. Her sons, Abraham & Richard are there as well. TIA Mary
