    3. Helen McDonald has the best file on Venable that I know of, Her address is Rt 2 Box 150B Hayden Lake ID 83835. It is old but I think it is good. If you find out she has an e-mail adress, I would appreciate getting it, because I do not know that she is on line. 3. 5/26/98 Hi Rooters, Now that the list is active again, I would like to re-submit this query. We all have mysteries to solve, and I am hoping someone out there can help me solve mine. Josiah VENABLE, his wife, Jane Clack THORNTON, their five children; Joseph, Elizabeth, Mary Jane, Abraham, and Richard, lived in Buckingham Co. He inherited land around 1798 from his brother Abraham, who had purchased it from George STINSON. Josiah was born @1763 in Pr. Edw. Co., Jane was born in 1778 in Pr. Edw. Co. They married there in Dec 1799. He was listed in the 1800 and 1810 Buckingham Co. Tax list, and in the 1810 Census for Buckingham Co., VA. I have no will or death records for him. I have a photo copy of page 374 of the Fluvanna Co., VA Publick Claims book. Book 6, Page 47 -- Guardians Bond -- Jane Venable and Peter P. Thornton [her uncle], November 16, 1818 for Jane VENABLE as guardian of Mary and Eliz. VENABLE, orphans of Josiah VENABLE. Perhaps he died in Fluvanna Co., or his death record was recorded there. Can anyone direct me where to search for this information? Jane shows up in the "EARLIEST LAND BOOK" of Lynchburg in 1818. Her sons, Abraham & Richard are there as well. TIA Mary

    3. Ruby - I don't personally have info on your Mary Sue Newton, second wife of Richard Huddleston. However, I do know their son, John Morton Huddleston, Sr. who still resides in Dillwyn, VA. Morton is married to Ola Trent. I just met with them about three weeks ago. I have their phone number and address. Morton was born in 1911 but is in very good health. I also know of Richard's daughter, Annie Pearl who married Jeff Huddleson. They have some children still around in Dillwyn who could probably help too. Let me know if you are interested. 3. Hey! You didn't say who your 3ggrandfather was. I live in TX now but I am from VA and my grandparents and families were b. in Buckingham, Appomattox and Pr. Edward, so I spent a lot of time up there as a child. Is it the Palmer/Jamison line? Or a french huguenot line?

    3. My (3gr)gf was born in Buckingham Co in 1762. Although his family had moved on to Montgomery Co by 1774 (at the latest) I hang around on the list, waiting for a bit of information that isn't published. It may never come, but at least I'm learning something about their neighbors! Most of what I've seen so far is 1800's, but I'm optimistic that some mid-1700's will creep in sometime! Keep up the "chat" - it's all information. Best wishes, Earl EARL B. 3. My book lists 2 marriages for a John Jamison: Page 427 - List of marriage bonds for Northampton Co. VA - John Jamison to Adah Clegg Aug 13, 1751. Page 103 - Marriages of Buckingham Co., VA - John Jamison to Sarah Palmer, daughter of Elizabeth Palmer who consents; witness: William Palmer, surety; William Johnson Berryman. There is a Richard Apperson marriage in Charles City Co. in Nov. 1812. Wife not named. Sorry I couldn't find it. Sandra

    3. Sandra, I don't know why all of the person-to-person communication is being posted to the VABUCKIN-L website, but since it is, I just read your note to Bill. The Palmer-Jamison marriage may prove interesting to me. What was the date? You said it was on page 103. While you are looking, could you check for Webster marriages? I am looking for Rezin (Reason) Webster (b 1815) marrying Gene (Jean) Oliver. Also interested in Addison Webster, son of Rezin and also name of purported father. Thanks, Sharon

    3. To Sandra Due: I understand you have an early listing for marriages in Virginia. Could you please check one for me? I am looking for a marriage for John Jamerson (or Jameson, Jamison, Jimmerson, Jimmeson, etc.) and a Matilda Apperson. Probably in Buckingham Co. in mid to late 1700's. Thank you so much.
