Hello. The only Jameson that I know of is way back. My gr-gr-grandfather's half- brother was Isaac Davis (son of Charles Davis and Sarah Cooksey Moreland Davis) who married a Jean/Jane Bird (nee Jameson) widow of a Bird, Abner I believe. He then moved to Rockcastle, KY. I know no more of the Jameson clan of the area. Sorry. Charles Davis.
A Joseph Palmore was listed in the 1800 Buckingham tax list. From "Genealogical Records of Buckingham County, Virginia". Might help. GB
This book is available at the Roanoke Va Public Library

When I visited Roanoke I saw this book at their library.
Charles Davis, I don't have any Terry's in that area. However, noticing that you are from Roanoke (near my home town), I was wondering if you had any Jamerson/Jameson relatives lurking around? I have heard that some of them from Buckingham Co. moved to Roanoke. Thanks Kathy Huddcooley@aol.com
Wayne Hatcher, In the BuckinghamMarriage book I find no marriage for Hatcher, but I do find on page 23 Barnet HATCHER signed a petition to the House of Delegates. It is in relation to a repeal of an earlier act affecting Episcopal Church. Dated Oct. 17, 1787. It is too long to type here, but if you wish, e-mail me privately and I will send. No SLATOR. Phyllis in Florida
Thank you so very much.....sounds very promising...... Joyce
Sam, Would you happen to have the book you mentioned abt. Buckingham Co. VA, Church & Marriage Records 1764-1822? I am having no luck finding anything on my 4G grandparents who came from Buckingham Co. VA to Barren Co. KY around 1818-19. If you have this book would you mind looking for a Barnett HATCHER? He married Susannah ? . We are not positive of how her last name is spelled. It may be STATON or SLATOR or SLAUTOR. Her father's first name was William. Please advise what you think. I would be most grateful!! If someone on the list has it would you let me know? THANKS!! I still live here in Barren Co. KY Sincerely, Wayne Hatcher -----Original Message----- From: Samuel V. My Terry family lived in Louisa County - William Terry and his wife Henrietta. Their daughter Henrietta married William Nuckols. Their son Joseph Nuckols moved to Buckingham County after his father died about 1819/20. Could there be a connection? Me too. I am glad to hear there is such a book as Births & Marriages 1764-1822 for Buckingham Co. We live within reach of Salt Lake City, occasionally go to the LDS Family History Library there. We will do some searching to see if such a book is on hand there. If we find it, look for our reply via e-mail. Gene Hardyman
I'm also interested in this Hardiman family as a descendant of Uriah Hardiman. I have done extensive research on this family and believe I can help with the parents of William. John Hardiman, W. M. Hardiman, G. W. Hardiman and Susan Baber were named as heirs to Samuel G. Hardiman and are named as his siblings. I'm assuming W.M. is William. This will was written in Robertson Co., Tenn. in April 1849 and probated in Christian Co., Ky on 2 Dec 1850 in Will Book N, p. 588. I would love to exchange information on this family as I have virtually nothing on the children of Samuel & Rebecca Garrett Hardiman other than Charles Garrett Hardiman. Linda Hardiman Smith
I have a Charles HARDIMAN b ca 1792 who married Rebecca GARRETT. She was the daughter of Charles GARRETT & Chloe AGEE, who were my direct ancestors. According to my records Charles HARDIMAN & Rebecca GARRETT had a daughter, Susan HARDIMAN, who married Bright BABER. Any further info appreciated. Ruby Talley Smith
I need information on the family of Major (first name, not a title) TERRY b ca 1800 who married Appolinia T. NEWTON. They lived in Buckingham Co. They had 8 children. The only one that I have further info on is Martha Ellen TERRY who married William H. RAGLAND. Ruby Talley Smith
There were several Scruggs that signed a petition as residents of Buckingham Co VA on November 10, 1786. Maybe one of them was related to your John H. (possibly father). Their names were Theod Scruggs, Jesse Scruggs, John Scruggs, Thomas Scruggs and possibly a G. Scruggs. These Scruggs are all listed in the book "Buckingham County, Virginia" " Church and Marriage Records" 1764 - 1822. Good luck. Does anyone know where I can obtain access to the book "Buckingham County, Va. Birth & Marriage Records 1764-1822" Henry
Hello. I am looking for information on the Terry's who lived in Buckingham Co. in the late 1700's. I have a JOHN TERRY in the Franklin Co., VA census of 1850 and 1860 who stated his birthplace as Buckingham Co. This would have been around 1785-1795. Also in the Franklin/Patrick Co. area there was a Rev. War pensioner named JOSEPH TERRY who was born in Chesterfield Co. and moved as a child to Buckingham Co., then to Franklin Co. about 1820. So I'm stuck with no will or other data in Franklin or Patrick Co's that would help me find out if these two men were father-son or uncle-nephew or cousins...or what! I know that there were Rakes who lived in the same area as the Terry's -- both in Buckingham (around Walton's Fork) and Franklin Co. (the Long Branch district). And there was a HENRY TERRY who married a POLLY RAKES in Buckingham who appear to have been the same as Henry and Mary Terry of Franklin Co. So what!? I sure wish I could put it all together. Any clues or information would be most appreciated. Thanks. Charles Davis in Roanoke.

I need Buckingham County Va. help, too. Does anyone have information on a son of Captain Richard Allen (of Cumberland Co., b. 1741) named either Richard, Jr., or Simeon? My grandfather, Noel Jackson Allen, born and died in Buckingham Co. near Enonville (1869-1943). His father, Simeon m. Martha Frances Dunevant, born maybe in Buckingham Co., died there (b. 1823, d. 1910). Oral tradition from 2 sources says Simeon was a son of Richard Allen of Cumberland County and that said Richard descended from James Allen (b. 1608). But, I am having trouble confirming the link. Also, if Capt. Richard was born 1741, he would have been 82 when Simeon was born. Since the 1741 date is generally accepted, I suspect I am missing a generation. Does anybody have any insight on Simeon's parents or Simeon's wife's family (Dunevant)? Many thanks. Noel Allen
